Cabbagetown Short Film Festival

The Cabbagetown Short Film Festival began in 1992 as  a way to make watching films more accessible. The event, which is entirely volunteer-led, is generously supported by local businesses and artists, and proceeds from the ticket sales go to the creator of the film that is voted as the best in the festival by participants. The Festival has been held continuously since 1992, and to this day still features local and internationally recognized work. 

Drawing audiences and filmmakers from many different communities, the Festival strives to showcase Toronto’s diverse heritage. There is no fee for filmmakers to submit their work for consideration, which allows for both seasoned filmmakers, as well as newer filmmakers to take part.
