Tales of the Necropolis Community Event
Walk through one of the city’s oldest cemeteries to discover the lives of former Torontonians, including that of our first mayor, an iconic zombie movie maker, and the person who first found dinosaur bones in Canada.
Date
October 1 @ 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
About the Community Event
Join us at the Heritage Toronto tent to explore one of the oldest cemeteries in the city and learn about some of Toronto’s heroes, champions, rebels, and leaders. We will be stationed at the Cabbagetown Farmer’s Market under the Heritage Toronto tent with historical interpretation about the legacies that made a mark on this city and rest in the Necropolis cemetery.
Guided tours will be offered at 4:00pm and 5:30pm. Tours are approximately one hour and will start and end at the Heritage Toronto tent.
Tours will be led by volunteer tour leader Gilles Huot.
These events are free and no pre-registration is required. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the tour start time.
Further Information
