August 22 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
About the Tour
Take the modern view of St. Clair Avenue on this interactive photo walk. As you stroll the avenue, catch sight of the Imperial Oil Building, originally designed to be Toronto’s new City Hall in the 1950s. Other stops will include the former head office of Duplate Safety Glass and the Oriole Arms Apartment Building. Bring your camera and capture the unique lines and finishes of mid-century Modern architectural gems.
This tour will be led by Heritage Toronto volunteer Vik Pahwa, an architectural photographer specializing in documenting Toronto’s built environment with an emphasis on mid-century modernism. His photographs appear in Remnants of Mid-Century Toronto (with Spacing.ca), Toronto Architecture: A City Guide (with Alex Bozikovic), Modest Hopes and numerous Spacing magazines. Vik is also a film locations photographer and runs a daily architecture photography blog.
