Once the site of resorts and boat builders, by the mid-20th century the community of Humber Bay was known for summer cabins, restaurants and gambling dens. More recently, an infamous motel strip has been replaced by lofty condos which overlook beautiful parkland.

The "Danforth" used to pass through open fields and market gardens. Today we find an interesting mix of structures and sites: from the home of William Peyton Hubbard, the first African-Canadian member of Toronto City Council, to the Music Hall Theatre.
