On Monday, May 10th Heritage Toronto presented a plaque in honour of the Cecil Community Centre.

Built in 1891 as the Church of Christ, the Church was converted into the Ostrovtzer Synagogue in 1925, became the Chinese Catholic Centre in 1966 and eventually the Cecil Street Community Centre in 1978. The plaque is the fourth plaque to be presented in Heritage Toronto's Jewish Heritage Plaque Initiative.
