John (Alan) Burton was born and raised in England and moved to Jamaica at the age of 16 when his father accepted a teaching post in Kingston. Mr. Burton relocated to Toronto in 1963 and began a 35-year banking career with The Toronto-Dominion Bank. A resident of Scarborough for over 45 years he is actively committed to preserving the integrity of our natural, historical and built heritage by advocating accountability and community involvement. Mr. Burton was appointed to the board by Toronto City Council in 2009 and will complete the 2007 - 2010 term.
