Dr. Ross Fair is the Academic Coordinator, Continuing Education for the Department of History at Ryerson University, where recently he has launched a new undergraduate course in the History of Toronto. His academic interests focus on pre-Confederation Canada, particularly Upper Canada, and he also explores the role that local history, both myth and memory, plays in the construction of the Canadian identity. Dr. Fair has worked as a research consultant for various organizations, including Heritage Toronto and the Ontario Heritage Trust. His work has appeared in the Canadian Historical Review, Journal of the Canadian Historical Association, Ontario History and elsewhere.
