The diverse Marlborough - Summerhill area, which includes everything from grand estates to a city reservoir, has been largely shaped by the 1884 Canadian Pacific Railway line. This busy freight line, along with the beautifully restored North Toronto Station, continues to dominate the area.
The parade will feature the Queen's York Rangers, plus the Regimental Pipes, the Flute and Drum Corps, the Old Guard (who parade in the unit's Revolutionary War uniforms), and two Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps affiliated with the Regiment. There will also be military displays from the present day Rangers, as well as a period show by the Regiment's Old Guard. The Patron of the Parade is the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
The parade takes place at Old Fort York between 4pm-6:15pm, September 11th, 2010.
Thank you. If you need further information, please contact Honorary Colonel Darrell Bricker, PhD 416-324-2001
This fascinating area is where Toronto developed beyond a military post beginning in the early 1800s. Some of our most remarkable buildings are here, including Canada's oldest bank building and the Flatiron Building. Condominiums have recently joined quaint shops, restored warehouses, and Toronto's largest cathedral.

Explore this beautiful natural heritage area and learn how it evolved from Alexander Milne's pioneer farm and mill to Rupert Edward's 1942 country estate to today's public park and garden education centre. After the tour, take in the activities and displays of TBG's "Harvest Day" (for details, visit http://www.torontobotanicalgarden.ca/)
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the oldest part of the patient-built boundary wall, constructed in 1860, which stands on the south side of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) at 1001 Queen Street West. These patient-built walls, along with the 1888-89 walls on the east and west sides, are a testament to the abilities of people whose unpaid labour was central to the operation of asylums in the Province of Ontario during the 19th & 20th centuries.
Join us as we unveil a series of nine memorial plaques in remembrance.
Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
Corner of Queen Street West and Shaw Street.
A tour of the wall and all nine plaques will follow the dedication ceremony.
Sponsored by Psychiatric Survivor Archives, Toronto (PSAT), CAMH,
and the generous support of many community donors.
