Original maps from past three centuries illustrates how the purpose of early provincial maps changed from tools for settlement and exploitation of resources to tools for understanding the evolving cultural and physical landscape of Ontario. Runs to Feb. 26. Free to public, 9-5, M-F. archives.gov.on.ca

Bake, boil and fry your way to three Victorian desserts. Led by a knowledgeable costumed instructor, participants will use recipes from the 1800s while they create fruit cake, boiled pudding, and sugar doughnuts on a wood-burning stove. A Victorian sweets sampler!
Fee: $100 (includes all materials, taxes and parking)
Members Fee: $90
This class is limited to 10 participants.

Spadina Museum: Historic House & Gardens is currently undergoing an extensive restoration that will highlight the 1920s. On Sunday, February 21, 2010 the City of Toronto and Spadina Museum invite you to immerse yourself in the world of early 20th century design with Inside Interiors, a special event offering guests a taste of the fascinating décor trends of the 1920s and a special glimpse of the restoration currently underway. Participants will experience the historic mansion in a completely unique way, as historian Neil Brochu brings to life the passions and artistic sensibilities that defined the prestigious Austin family.
