This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the ancient art of marbling. Traditionally a decorative art used in book binding, the technique of moving brilliant colour into simple and complex designs on fabric is a modern translation of this ancient skill. Participants will learn the whole process of marbling beginning with building a marbling tray and mixing the water bath. They will practice basic colour theory and simple marbling techniques on cotton samples. And, before the day is done, they will create four unique and vibrant silk scarves to take home! | ||
