As part of Black History Month the National Film Board of Canada will be hosting the following events in the month of February: Celebrating Black History in the Classroom and Beyond: The NFB, in partnership with the Ontario Black History Society, will introduce you to a diverse collection of NFB films, online resources and books available for elementary and secondary teachers. Meet leaders in the field of Canadian Black History and network with local experts, businesses, community organizations and other teachers. With special guest Rosemary Sadlier, President of OBHS and author of The Kids’ Guide to Canadian Black History. CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY ALL MONTH LONG Start: 7:00 pm
End: 9:00 pm
Gary Sault, Mississauga Elder and StorytellerTickets are $15 per lecture or $50 for a series of four - available Saturdays at the Tollkeeper's Cottage (at Davenport Road and Bathurst Street) or may be purchased from a Community History Project member - advance sales only. Capacity is limited to 35 people. Tea and coffee will be served with the lecture followed by a Q&A session.
