The Queen's York Rangers is an armoured reconnaissance regiment of the Canadian Forces Reserves and a part of 32 Canadian Brigade Group. Regimental Headquarters, Headquarters Squadron, and elements of 'D' Squadron are located at Canadian Forces Armoury Fort York, in downtown Toronto, Ontario. The remainder of 'D' Squadron is located at Canadian Forces Armoury Aurora, in Aurora, Ontario.

The Canadian Forces Army Reserves (or Militia) is made up of citizen-soldiers who train one night a week, one weekend a month, and from 2 weeks to 3 months in the summer (as civilian employment permits). Parade nights are Wednesdays, from 1930-2230 hours.
